Rivercity Marine Limited was started by Managing Director Brian Collings in 1981. Rivercity Marine Limited was operated solely as boat sales and service business until 1995. January 1995 Rivercity Marine took over manufacturing of the AMF Pro Sport Series, to relieve AMF Boat Company of their extreme workload and enable them to concentrate on larger vessels.
Brian Collings had been involved with the design, development and marketing with Paul Sharratt of AMF Boat Company from 1988 and the AMF Pro Sport
Series had been built in Mt Maunganui until 1994. Paul Sharratt still

continues to build the larger models of the AMF design in Mt Maunganui.
In 1995 Construction of the Pro Sport Series commenced in Wanganui with the employment of AMF boat builder Ken.
The original development came about with the need for a seriously strong aluminum boat, excellent performance, with plenty of deck space. Suitable for divers and commercial fisherman to use from the West Coast of Wanganui and to able to contend with a bar situation that had often developed when it was time to return home. Thus insuring the resale value of the craft. A boat with permanence!
Nine boats later and hours and hours spent putting each boat through it paces over the Wanganui Bar, the 190 Pro Sport Series Open Runabout was developed. From this boat the other models were developed to cater more predominately for the recreational user, wanting over night capabilities and family boating features in a safe strong boat.
The Rivercity Marine Ltd Team have regularly boated in serious water crossing the bar in extreme weather, crossing cook straight, beach launching, general boating, fishing, diving and rescue work. This experience and listening to what Fisherman want to achieve from their boats, has lead to the development of a well laid out boat, where features are simple, robust and lay easily to hand.
2003 and Rivercity Marine Limited started to supply a dealer network, making it easier to purchase an AMF in a market local to customers. March 2006 Rivercity Marine's retail outlet on Putiki Drive, Wanganui was closed to allow for a dedicated effort on suppling a quality Dealer Net work. The boat building facility is now situated in Taupo Quay, Wanganui. Now giving the manufacturing a larger dedicated area.
Late 2006 Brian purchased the AMF Boat Company in Mount Maunganui from Paul Sharratt and Paul's daughter Jodi Collings. Paul Sharrat and Jodi Collings have continued thier passion for the AMF Product and are a integral part of the business.
The AMF Team of dealers will guide you through the planning, construction and rigging out of your new craft right to the completed turnkey - on the water - go boating rig. With all boats completed to this rigged standard, you are ensured that the boat you receive is of the best quality and that all the fit out has been carried out by qualified and experienced staff, using high quality components.
